About Dr. Cheryl Adams

Cheryl L. Adams is a 1996 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was a member of the Phi Zeta veterinary honor society. After school, she was chosen for an ambulatory internship at the prestigious Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, FL. Dr. Adams practiced equine medicine for six years before coming to Bay Road Animal Hospital in 2002. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, but does have special interests in preventive medicine and heartworm disease in dogs and cats. When not working, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time with her husband Mark on their farm where they have three horses, four cats, and a dog named Coco. Previously, Dr. Adams used to compete in American Quarter Horse Association shows with her horses, and she hopes to one day return to the show ring.
